It's FINALLY cooler in Austin and we are so excited to get out in the cooler weather and enjoy the festivals and everything fall related. We've got some easy tips for you on how to do it all without pulling your hair out. Plus we've got specific Austin fall activities that you might not know about and definitely don't want to miss.
Calendar - Make a list of all of the activities you and your family want to attend. Then sit down with the family calendar and pencil it all in - specific dates and times. It sounds simple, but if you don't make the time to schedule everything now, it'll be Christmas before you know it. Plus telling the kids your weekend plans ahead of time gives them something to look forward to (and behave for) all week.
Supplies - Anticipate what you'll need on your weekend jaunts and pack the car Friday night. Get snacks, drinks, and car activities (if it's a long trip) all ready to go. Visiting a pumpkin patch? Charge the camera battery the night before. Don't forget extra clothes in case of mud puddles out on the farm and a warm sweatshirt in case the temperature drops. A wagon wouldn't be a bad idea either if you don't like hauling heavy pumpkins and kids after they get too tired to walk.
Baking - Pick out the recipes you want to try now and get supplies for the whole season. That way you can bake whenever the mood strikes you. Shoot for a few tried and true ones, something fun the kids want to try, and at least one of the ones you pinned on Pinterest but never actually baked. Go through your kitchen and make sure you have all of the required measuring spoons, cups, mixing bowls, and pans.
Now that you are all set, look through our list of Austin Activities and get ready to have some fun!
